Alexa began her love affair with stones when she was a child, collecting stones and burning out the motor on her rock tumbler. Unlike other childhood past-times, her passion for the earth elements lead her to pursue a degrees in Geology and Environmental Sciences at the University of Utah. After years of rumination, Alex began her collection of jewelry to celebrate stunning stones and unique gems. Her knowledge of gem structure and metallic properties has enabled her to search out quality precious and semi-precious stones as the buyer for her company, as well as the creative force and metal smith behind all the pieces created for Alex Stein Design.
Through Alex's modern approach of combining bold stones and quirky designs, she has created pieces that are truly show-stopping. Alex Stein re-imagines funky found pieces by adding glorious gemstones and a large dash of wit to each piece she creates. No two pieces are alike, as each semi-precious stone has a character all its own.
